Car Accident Involving Truck Results in Fatality in Irvine

Once receiving a radio call for the accident, two California Highway Patrol officers that were near the scene were rushing to the scene of the accident, when they too, were involved in an accident. As the officers were proceeding through the intersection of Jeffrey and Walnut in Irvine, they were struck by another vehicle as they proceeded through the intersection. Both the officers, and the other driver involved were treated at a local area hospital for minor injuries. Unfortunately, the driver that crashed into the truck in the original accident died from his injuries. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the deceased and his family.

The serious, and sometimes fatal consequences of motor vehicle accidents should make you more cautious and grateful to not be involved. However, unfortunately car accidents are not always unavoidable, whether it is your own fault or the fault of another driver. Statistics indicate that most people will have one accident every 18 years of driving. For when the inevitable does happen, it is important to always use a safety belt, and practice safe driving!
