The Family of a Man Lost in a Fatal Dana Point Accident May Have Wrongful Death Claim

A man driving a Chrysler Coupe was broadsided by a Cadillac Escalade at the intersection of Golden Lantern Street and Selva Road.  Unfortunately the driver of the Chrysler Coupe did not survive the fatal accident, and the driver of the Escalade was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.  Accidents at an intersection are often quite violent, resulting in serious injury and in some cases loss of life.  The question in this case is which vehicle was responsible for the crash?  If a fatal accident was due to another driver’s negligence, the family of the victim may file a wrongful death claim in California.

If the Escalade was at fault for the accident, the family of the man driving the Chrysler Coupe should consider a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver of the Escalade.  California law recognizes the value of a person’s life, and the loss of “consortium” (the ability to see and spend time with a person) the family will experience following a fatal accident.

My name is Rivers Morrell, and I have more than 40 years of experience in these types of fatal accidents.  The family must grieve their unexpected and sudden loss.  However, it is important to act fairly quickly to contact an attorney so that valuable evidence from the scene and the police department’s investigation can be preserved.  It is also important to seek the testimony of witnesses while the incident is clearly in their minds.

I have helped thousands of injury victims and their families over my 40+ years of work, and I understand the deep grief associated with these cases.  I take the burden of a wrongful death claim off of the family’s shoulders so that they don’t have to take calls from insurance adjusters or investigators, and they are free to support one another through an exceptionally difficult time.
