Nursing Home Injuries are on the Rise in Orange County

The Centers for Disease Control, or CDC report that nursing home injuries are on the rise in Orange County and across the United States.  The number of falls resulting in seriously injuries has increased, especially here in California.  California has the highest rates of restraint in our nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities.  This is often due to understaffing, and the inability to meet standards for patient care.

If your loved one suffers an injury from a fall or drop in an Orange County nursing home we will hold them accountable.  My name is Rivers Morrell, and for more than 40 years I have helped injury victims to recover financial reimbursement for their medical bills, and the suffering which they have been forced to endure at the hands of someone else’s negligence.

Nursing home injuries are on the rise in Orange County due to neglect and over-medication as well.  Many patients are seriously injured simply trying to use the rest room, or to move from an uncomfortable position in their bed.  The CDC further reports that the number of falls in California nursing homes is higher that 2 falls per year per bed.  This does not meet the standard of any facility with which I’m aware, nor does it meet California’s strict laws and regulations regarding the care of our seniors.

A fall in a nursing home could result in a broken hip, broken bones, or serious head trauma and traumatic brain injury.  The frames of these patients are much more frail, and serious injury is unfortunately much more common.  You entrusted the care of your beloved family member to people you thought would provide sound medical care.  If your loved one is injured in a nursing home I invite you to call for a free consultation at (949) 305-1400.
