Fatal Accident on 91 Freeway at the 57 Kills One, Injures Another

A fatal accident on the 91 Freeway at the connector to the 57 near Fullerton early this morning claimed one life, and injured another person.  A black Toyota sedan lost control while attempting to exit off of the 91 Freeway onto the 57, and lost control hitting a guard rail and then a light pole.  A 25 year old Anaheim man was ejected from the vehicle during the accident and passed away at the scene.  A 26 year old Anaheim man was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with serious injuries.

Even though this was a single car accident, the passenger can file a lawsuit against the driver to recover for their injuries.  If the victim who was fatally wounded was the passenger, the family of that man may have a wrongful death action against the driver of the vehicle.  My name is Rivers Morrell and after more than 40 years of service as an injury attorney I can share that passengers in the same vehicle often don’t realize they have a valid claim against the driver.

In many cases, these are obviously close friends and perhaps even family members.  California laws and insurance policies may govern coverage if the passenger is an immediate family member, but it is worth a phone call to find out.  If you were injured as a passenger in a vehicle that is involved in an accident, or if you are the family of the victim of a fatal accident cause by someone else who was driving I invite you to call and speak with me personally for a free consultation at (949)305-1400.
