Dog Bite in Costa Mesa Injures Young Boy

A young 11 year old boy was hospitalized after being bitten by a neighbor’s dog in Costa Mesa. The incident occurred at or about the 1000 block of Nancy Lane in Costa Mesa when the pit bull dog escaped from an open door in his neighbor’s house and rushed at the young boy. The dog chased the young boy and bite him on the right leg, causing serious puncture wounds and lacerations that required many stitches to repair. The dog was impounded and quarantined where Orange County Animal Control is conducting an investigation on whether to deem the dog a vicious animal and whether it should be euthanized for public safety. The young boy is making a recovery on his injuries.
